The core mission of the Design Ethnography Research Group (DERG) is to identify, understand, and transform through design work the multiple activities, places, and social groups (socio-technical arrangements) with which children participate, and to understand what participation in those various socio-technical arrangements means to them. More directly, we are interested in how participation with these socio-technical arrangements transact with (mutually constitute) the core components of what we refer to as a Culture of Enrichment (CoE)so that we can more effectively facilitate the development of these in children. At its core, the DERG is interested in designing culture. |
