CHALLENGE!!!

Go to the public library or bookstore and look up Ansel Adams. After studying some of his pictures, borrow a camera (or if you can’t find a camera get a sketch pad and pencils) and take some nature shots of your playground or backyard. Look for that speck of dust in a sunbeam or the ant colony and capture their magic on film or in a drawing.

5th Graders
Check out some other artists besides Ansel Adams. How do they capture magic from the world around us? Do they make things that seem ordinary and boring exciting? Once you have found some art you really like, write down a list of the reasons why. When your list is complete, paint a picture that expresses your list.
