Introduction to Devil's Tower

devtower.gif (29798 bytes)In 1906, President Teddy Roosevelt declared Devils Tower as the nation's first natural monument. The rocks and boulders around the base of the tower are actually broken pieces of columns having fallen from the sidesof the tower. At its base (the bottom of the tower), there is a paved walking path around the tower, a distance of one and a quarter miles. The tower is 865 feet high.
